Nørrebro Bryghus har frigivet de tre næste øl i Limited Release serien, foruden en øl mere i bryggerirestauranten i Ryesgade, København.
Nørrebro Bryghus’ beskrivelser for de tre Limited Release øl er på engelsk.
Nørrebro Bryghus Imperial Skärgaards Porter Cabernet Barrel (9%): Limited Release No. 8. Barrel Aged Imperial Porter.
An extra strong version of our London style porter, brewed in January 2009. After primary and secondary fermentation for three months on tank, the beer was racked into French oak barrels, previously used for a Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux wine. After 11 months in the barrel, the beer is silky smooth and full bodied with rich chocolaty malt flavours, some red wine character and hints of vanilla and oak. Surprisingly dry on the palate, smooth and easy drinking with a complex, sweet aftertaste.
Ingredients: Barley malt, honey and hops.
Nørrebro Bryghus Tripel de Lente Sauternes Barrel (9%): Limited Release No. 9. Barrel Aged Belgian Tripel.
Based on a very classically brewed Belgian style tripel with just the one twist that it was fermented with a saison yeast blend. After primary and secondary fermentation on tank for 3 months, the beer was racked into French Sauternes oak barrels and inoculated with brettanomyces and lactobaccillus. After 8 months in the barrel, the beer shows a very charming combination of spicy aromas, earthy notes and the complex tartness added by the wild yeast and bacteria. The body is dry with intense spicy and fruity flavours with clear hints of vanilla and oak.
Ingredients: Barley malt, wheat malt and hops.
Nørrebro Bryghus Stevns CCC Vintage 2009 (8,5%): Limited Release No. 10. Barrel Aged Sour Cherry Ale.
A sour mash beer, fermented with concentrated Stevns cherries and aged with Brettanomyces in a solera system, using primarily Pinot Noir barrels, started in 2007 with the ‘original’ brew made with Will Meyers from the Cambridge Brewing Co. (CCC). The beer has an aroma dominated by cherries, smooth brett, dark malts and oak. The very dry and crisp flavour also has distinct acidity with fruity and winey notes. The aftertaste is long and complex, with all the elements in the flavour interchanging and ending on a discreet marzipan and bitter almond note.
Ingredients: Barley malt, cherry concentrate and hops.
